| Lisa C. | | Great site! | | Reviewed on June 19th, 2020 | | Large and clean this site has ample privacy with just enough sun exposure to keep it comfortable. The privies in this campground have all been upgraded to flush toilets which is nice. Cleaning staff came by twice a day and cleaned the privies and did an excellent job! Only saw a Park Warden truck once during our stay but our campground only had 6 camsites filled all weekend so I'm sure their priority was the other campgrounds (like the Dunes) that were almost sold out. Park Warden's weren't necessary anyway because it was very quiet and peaceful.
Roads in this campground are very, very narrow and although this didn't pose a problem for us since it was September and basically empty, I can't imagine trying to drive down these in the busy summer. Visit in September if you can, especially if your main interest is hiking and not the beach!
Site is dirt covered and hardly any grass even though they say it has grass on their website. As long as you don't mind dirt this shouldn't be a problem. Shared our site with 2 cute chipmunks and heard a Whip-poor-will in the early morning hours of our first full day.
