| Deni B. | | Site R23 is completely private, right on Lake Superior | | Reviewed on June 19th, 2020 | | This is one of the best sites for camping right on Lake Superior. It's at the end of the loop, the camper is sheltered from the wind by low brushes and the view is lakefront. Completely private, surrounded by woods, short trails from the site lead to blueberry bushes (haven't encountered any bears thankfully), and the picnic table is in a large open sunny area, right on the lake. If you're a tent camper, there are numerous "perfect places" within the site to pitch a tent and be completely private. Last, the site has a huge fire ring in an open area, so late night fires by the lake are a must. The only downside - and this is true for the entire Rossport unit - is that this campground is right off the highway and RR.
